Tzedakah and Ways to Contribute
As part of our mission, Congregation Beth Shalom makes a commitment to provide our members with spiritual observance, celebration of life cycle events, educational opportunities for children and adults, and a beautiful, well-maintained synagogue building. Your generous support will help ensure that we can continue to make the same commitment into the future. On-going giving, over and above dues, is essential to the life of every synagogue including our own. We hope you will consider a gift to any of our funds as well as the special campaigns and appeals that we have from time to time.
Members wishing to donate significant gifts for a specific project or bequest are encouraged to speak with Rabbi Beals or our president, Peter Burcat.
Below are a few ways to give tzedakah to our Congregation.

High Holy Day Appeal
We ask you to make Beth Shalom a philanthropic priority by contributing to this year’s Yom Kippur (High Holy Day) Appeal. This appeal, which accounts for a critical part of our funding, helps to bridge the often significant gap between the membership dues you pay and the Synagogue’s expenditures. The Appeal helps to provide:
-
Outstanding clergy and staff who teach and inspire us
-
A Framework for Excellence Hebrew School whose programs guide our children to fulfilling Jewish lives, and whose teachings prepare them for b'nai mitzvah and a lifelong commitment to the Jewish community
-
Worship services, life cycle events, festivals and celebrations enhanced by Jewish art, food, music and teaching
-
Preservation and maintenance of our magnificent building
